Weather Metaphor UI Design
I decided to go with the concept of a lock screen that shows different weather conditions throughout the different times of day, and its effect on plants. I particularly focused on rainy, sunny and windy weathers.
With the use of Figma I started wireframing the elements I knew were essential to translate my idea. I mimicked Apple’s iPhone lock screen (network name, signal, wifi and battery icons) and added my own (e,g., the weather icon, temperature, sunrise/sunset times, plant).
To show the different times of day, I took inspiration from the colours found on the photographs I’ve taken of sunrises and sunsets by sampling the colours and using those to create a moving gradient for my background.
